I just feel so tired and frustrated with work

I have been working for a university for over five years, hourly and the pay is shit. It was okay for a while then the last year or so got brutal. I asked for a promotion after all this time saying that I simply can’t afford to live on the pay anymore. They said good luck so I job searched and even got a few interviews. Then in October my supervisor told me that I was being transferred to a another department and I was getting a promotion. Just wait a few months and I will be all set. Well, they kept on delaying it and then my dad got COVID and was hospitalized for a month. My mom was in hysterics and the family were fighting, I was forced to take a week and a half off to deal with the crisis. They encouraged it even and kept on…

They encouraged it even and kept on telling me to keep taking more time off. Even when I told them I would come back if needed.

When I returned they told me three days later they were delaying my promotion for six to eight months due to my dad. And the work from home I was still doing was over and they expected me in starting March. I just broke down.

When I came back, they moved my office (I knew about this), but also changed where my mail went without telling me, stripped me of all the tasks that I was doing for their department without letting me know months ago and never even ordered the office equipment I need for my office. My desk chair is a broken leftover, and the mouse and keyboard they gave me aggravates my carpal tunnel, which I already told them. I carry all my own office supplies in my backpack back and forth.

Then, well… My cat got sick and I had to adjust my schedule to rush him to the vet and missed a day in the office to work from home. My supervisor was furious and sent several emails asking me why I couldn’t find someone to care for him and focus on being at the office. Even when he nearly died, she was telling me that.

I just want to find a job where I am not panicking every time I run out of vacation/sick time. I had a surgery this week with complications and can barely breathe and I am sitting here wondering if I can afford to miss time and still have health insurance.

I am trying to find a job with no reply after applying to every job I am able to do that pays more. I just want to give up.
