Antiwork

I live in a state with no mandatory PTO payout on resignation. If my employer won’t pay me out when I leave, is there any reason to work a 2 weeks’?

Basically the title. I am getting close to another job offer. I have several weeks of PTO I didn’t get to use because of my work making us jump through an absurd number of hoops to use PTO. I plan on leaving my job at the latest within about 10 months due to life transitions coming up. When that conversation happens, I intended to negotiate: Option 1) I work a two weeks’ and they pay my unused PTO out at the end (in my state they can refuse to pay unused PTO out at the end of employment). Option 2) I give a two weeks’ but since they won’t pay my full 3+ weeks PTO out, I take 2 weeks PTO and that’s my two weeks’ (they can also deny this because of my state’s laws). Option 3) If they absolutely refuse to negotiate, last resort is I say that…

Basically the title.

I am getting close to another job offer. I have several weeks of PTO I didn’t get to use because of my work making us jump through an absurd number of hoops to use PTO.

I plan on leaving my job at the latest within about 10 months due to life transitions coming up. When that conversation happens, I intended to negotiate:

Option 1) I work a two weeks’ and they pay my unused PTO out at the end (in my state they can refuse to pay unused PTO out at the end of employment).

Option 2) I give a two weeks’ but since they won’t pay my full 3+ weeks PTO out, I take 2 weeks PTO and that’s my two weeks’ (they can also deny this because of my state’s laws).

Option 3) If they absolutely refuse to negotiate, last resort is I say that I will be quitting effective immediately (but current employer would not be happy— someone else recently quit no notice and they’ve been trash talking them).

Finally, Option 4) This is the least desirable as I’m really sick of being unappreciated and simply jerked around by my current employer, but if they absolutely refuse all of my negotiation, I can also just suck it up and work a two weeks’ anyway just to save face and maybe have a reference down the road.

Any thoughts? Advice?

I want to stand up for myself and stop feeling so screwed over by my job, but I know that my job doesn’t give a shit about doing right by the employees and if I fuck over my reference that could hurt my job prospects for years.
