I (26F) have been working at this place for around 2.5 years now and we get 22 days of paid leave a year that are obligatory to take. The annoying thing is that I need to request them a year in advance, like in November/December of each year they'll make us request our days off for the whole next year however they don't approve them a year in advance themselves.
Just a few days ago I asked my team leader whether my days off requested for October (2023) have been approved to which he said it'll be discussed some time in September. I couldn't believe it. The employees have to plan everything out a year in advance but they can wait all the way until barely a month to let us know if they're approved? I hate this place so much.
I know that many people on this sub live in countries where paid leave isn't even guaranteed but it's so frustrating to have to plan stuff a whole year in advance, I'm the only one from my whole friend group who has to plan so much in advance when I'll take my summer vacation or any time off. There's also restrictions on how many paid days off I can take a month, which is no more than 5 days, so it ends up being 9 days tops if I combine it with weekends. I'm so burnt out and I'm starting to have anger issues but the job pays well and I'm often told I take things for granted. I barely see my coworkers but I genuinely hate all of them.
