I work in a lab and my PTO got zeroed out after I had to take days off for a positive COVID test a couple weeks ago so now I have no days off that I can take, which is a major issue because my car got stolen from the employee parking garage while on the clock over the weekend. My job doesn’t have sick days either, so there is no cushion. It’s find a way to get to work or take disciplinary action that will go on my job record and potentially affect my chances of finding another.I’ve been job hunting for months now but interview after interview after interview have all turned up dry, so I don’t feel I have the liberty to bail on this job and bank on finding a new one in a timely manner. Public transit isn’t an option for me and I have to deal with getting a license and credit card (which was in my wallet that I forgot in my car when it got stolen). They found my car and took it to an impound center, but the front tire is shredded, the window got broken out and the ignition is gone, so I have to get it fixed but I can’t prove ownership right now to even tow it so it can get repairs because the person/people who stole my car took my vehicle registration information and literally all of my belongings that were in my car when it got stolen. And I have no time to take so I can take care of all of this.
