I started working in a labor collective

So I hang gutters and do other home exterior work (siding, fascia, soffit etc) I was sub contracting for a national corp that basically couldn’t manage to get their shit together when it came to accurately bidding and effectively scheduling work. I was talking to some other contractors and we said fuck em and went out on our own this season. Basically we set it up so we are independent contractors that work together. No bosses, we all have kids so we cover for each other when stuff comes up, pay is split fairly evenly with some considerations given based on the heavier equipment that’s owned. We are planning on taking two- three months off over the winter (it’s cold up here) which means I’m making around $63,000 in 42 weeks. This is basically the best job I’ve ever had. My health insurance is taken care of by my time…

This is basically the best job I’ve ever had. My health insurance is taken care of by my time in the military though so I really don’t know if this would work otherwise.
