I Think I see Your Problem

Hey, Antiworkers. I have been following you folk for a while now and I finally feel comfortable enough to speak openly here. On the outset of my journey following this group I felt you all were just a bunch of complainers, but I can say after reading a lot of you perspectives that you have changed how I view work. I’m still coming to terms with the ideas one this sub, but I’m enjoying the exposure to different perspectives. The amount of indoctrination corporations push is intense, but once you see the other side life makes more sense. I don’t think we were meant to toil our lives away working for someone else just to bring home a few measly dollars. However, as an individual I do value work to a degree.

I would much rather be working on things I care about, but a certain side of me sees the value in working. It does provide some semblance of security to a society.

One concept I feel like this sub is missing is that concept of contradictions. I think working for a corporation is diametrically opposed to corporations themselves.

When someone opens a business their primary intent is to create a profit. From the perspective of the business, you are not being brought on to a team to make a paycheck. You are being brought on to the team to produce. You are being used like a tool. Again, the main goal of the business is to make profits so you are viewed as a business expense.

However, as an individual are joining a team with the intent of making a paycheck. You want as much as possible for the work you perform whereas the business wants to give you as little as possible because you are an expense.

A relatable example is when you look at your bills and start shopping around for cheaper cell phone plans, insurance and etc.

Maybe this is obvious, but it finally registered for me. Companies try to pain themselves in a positive light for works so you can be lulled it producing. Meanwhile they are looking for way to automate you out and cut your benefits and salary because you are an expense.

I think the only way to combat this is not work for a company and form unions. The institution is bad. You have to balance who owns the means of production. Meaning you have to take ownership of a business, open a mom and pop shop and compete in the market.

Stop shopping at mega corps. Open a business and kick some mega corp ass. Remember to pay it forward once you do.

Edit: Oh, I see. I swapped in a smaller version of the same problem. My “solution” is the same contradiction. I was thinking that the more players who have equity means that more people have a say in the system.

In order to solve the problem you have to find a system that can align itself to your needs and find a way to eliminate that contradiction.
