Let me just point this out in the beginning — in my personal life I do not lie, cheat, or steal. I have a strong sense on integrity. My friends and family would agree that I have a strong set of personal ethics.
But the work world has beat that out of me.
I was just given an assessment. Do these clowns really think I am going to answer “I have a hard time waking up” or “I think it’s okay to steal” with a yes? Of course I am going to give the “right” answer. My assessment says I am a stellar human.
We had a test in our job yesterday. I literally knew only one answer so I googled the rest. Mind you — there has been no training that would help you to be able to pass that test. This company literally does not train at all and will not answer questions.
Companies routinely lie in job ads, post jobs that don’t exist, bait and switch, etc. Why do they think we would feel obligated to give them ANY deference when they do this? Employers create this atmosphere of dishonesty in the beginning, why are they surprised when they get that back?
The whole system needs to
burn to the ground.
