I don’t know if my boss is legally required to tell us who clocked out, but if that’s the case, they would’ve told me this already.
Everytime I try to call out, (I haven’t officially called out over text in months now because of this, they’ve threatened to fire me if I didn’t come in that day) I’m told “3/4/5 people called out already”, but I find this funny since I checked the schedule all the time since it’s on a board on the wall, and I check to see who called out, and even ask people if they called out, and they say “No, I haven’t called out” and they are clocked in the day they were supposed to be “called out”.
And it’s real funny, every time I ask who called out, they ignore the question or just simply plain don’t respond at all. My man’s who helped me get the job that I work with, even asked her that too, they replied with the most ridiculous, ambiguous answer.
I ask other people, did [boss name] tell you other people “called out”? They all (and I’m not exaggerating) literally tell me yes, they did tell me “3 people called out already”.
I wouldn’t have an issue if people are genuinely calling out, but it seems like they’re using that line just so people would come in.
And if they are doing that, is this illegal? Are they legally required to tell us who clocked out? 🤔
