I'm not sure how to quit my job (restaurant, server) I lied that I wasn't going to college when I got it, and they hired me thinking that (which I know is stupid, but I'd been trying to find a job for months and was desperate, I won't do that next summer).
I'm going about an hour away for college and, although I would love to keep this job for breaks when i come home, I don't want them to be upset with me/fire me right off the bat for lying. I know that's kind of sensitive and it's my fault, but I have grown to like my coworkers.
Basically, should I put in 2 weeks tomorrow, or just quit without the 2 weeks notice next week? I'm not sure they'd keep me if I asked to stay and told them I “changed my mind” about college. It's pretty suspicious to decide to move for college this late. But I want others advice, my friends and family have all given me different advice but they have biases about me and the establishment.
Some background info on said restaurant: lots of college students work there (but they'd been working there since highschool and obviously didn't lie about college), and many surrounding highschool students work there. The place regularly calls workers off and cuts their hours bc of bad weather, so they have plenty of people to work.
I mostly just feel like I've decieved my coworkers and managers. I like most of the people I work with and I'm scared that giving 2 weeks notice will lead to questions and I don't think I'll be able to handle that. Please don't tell me how stupid I am for getting myself in this situation, I just want advice on how to get out the least awkwardly.
