I work at a Cadillac dealership in Utah and I've made my way up the ladder to the Finance office (F&I manager, business manager, whatever you call that position) and I loved it! I was in that position for 2 months when my General Manager pulled me aside and told me that the owner of the dealership was moving someone from one of his other stores into my position so he can learn how to do it temporarily but I'd still be doing it part time. I asked what I did wrong for those to happen and he said nothing, I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing and learning quicker than he had expected me to! He said they just had to get this guy out of the other store because he and another salesperson got into a fight. That's the only explanation I got on the matter. I was angry but decided to take the pity role he gave me and wait it out. I was now the person in charge of all the leads that came in over the internet. I did that job for a month and a half and was getting over the anger I was feeling about the demotion.
My wife cuts hair and yesterday someone came into her salon and she started making conversation with him. Turns out, he works at the dealership that the person who took my job used to work at and he filled her in on the full story. Turns out this dude was cheating on his wife with one of his saleswomen and got caught in a utility closet by one of the technicians. He ultimately quit, however, the owner of the dealerships decided he should just be moved to a different location and hired him back, giving him my position (a promotion for him) and demoting me to a bullshit position that was made up, just for me.
I quit today, I feel so betrayed and insulted. I just had to get it off my chest
