Antiwork

I was just reviewing my latest pay stub. It brought me back to 8 years ago or so…at that time I worked for a popular fast food chain (I am now the Chef at a small fine dining restaurant). it occurred to me that I am now taking home in two weeks what I did in SIX weeks making minimum wage.

I will say that I work my ass off, and never have a day that I don't have to think about orders/inventory/menus…but the idea of previously working “full time”for that amount of money sickens me. I now physically work 45-50 hours or so at my job (not including the work I do outside of the kitchen). I seriously doubt many in the US still work for minimum wage, but it's an awful thought. We should collectively be ashamed
