I (33F) have a phone interview next week for a children's museum in Philadelphia. A Museum Learning Educator role. Mostly leading cute classes and reading storybooks for little kids. Something that works great with my background (theatre + former Disney Cast Member). A great way to escape Florida and its politics.
I am a little concerned by the Glassdoor reviews from past and current employees. Sounds like some major issues with management, particularly for BIPOC and other minorities I plan to politely ask them about it in the interview next week. I ignored the reviews for Legoland, and I ended up walking off that job in the first week.
I also applied for a similar position at a different, more grown up museum, and I'm actually more interested in that one, so fingers crossed I get an interview there too.
Do any of you have experience taking a job with mixed/mediocre Glassdoor reviews and it being better than expected? I'd hate to escape Florida only to end up stuck in a toxic environment with management from hell.
