Title says it all. I work at McDonald's in America. It was the first day everyone was back in school, we are located by 2 high-schools so it gets very busy.
I asked over the headset if there was anyone available that could cover my spot so I could go to the bathroom, it had gotten to the point I couldn't hold it for much longer, and my cousin, no one knows we're cousins, was the only one who responded. She covered for me, but apparently installed the drive thru for a minute because she has previously be in charge of making drinks.
When I got back literally 3 minutes later the general manager wrote me up for insubordination and sent me home and hour and a half early, in the middle of lunch. Turns out neither of the managers on duty had head sets on, so they didn't know what was happening. At least one is supposed to have one on for communication purposes.
Luckily my cousin didn't get written up, as the other manager there said it was stupid and didn't make her do it. I was because the gm wrote it up, but left before my cousin's shift was over.
They've been shady for a while and been trigger happy with the write up for me, so I feel their trying to quiet fire me, and it's hilarious because I'm the only person who can handle both order lanes and cashing customers out at the Sametime, and the only person who can do that and comes in at 6am.
Edit: I'm starting classes at the end of the month which will limit my availability to 2 days a week, no one will give me with that, but if yall got suggestions ill take them lol, graduation is at the end of January, and finding work in the beauty industry isn't hard, I literally watched my mom take the same course and now she makes more then I do on less work.
I kinda want to stay just to annoy them with the fact their tactics aren't working, just to leave then hight and dry when I do get better work.
