I have worked in offices, and now my home for my entire life. My kids live on opposite coasts. So the question to myself was why the fuck am I here in this house looking at the same walls?
Why not have walls that look different each and every day?
I bought an expedition that I’m going to my office on wheels. We will call it the remote office 1.0. This will be a test bench. Yes I am a remote worker. Does something in my work contract say I have to be in a certain state to watch? Well, it doesn’t say I physically have to be in that state and if they found out and made a big deal about it… It’ll be really easy for me to relocate somewhere lol.
What does this mean you ask? It means I will not be tethered to one place. That I will work by a pond in Oklahoma one day and one day I’ll work from the parking lot of a casino or from the beach in California if I so desire, The point being is, I will be where I want to be even if I’m doing a job that requires a desk.
When the time comes, I’m going to buy an old motorhome, find some creators that are good at converting those things, pay for all of the shit needed and get it built in a week. Plus I’m sure there’s sponsors out there. It’ll be a collab. It will be fun lol. I don’t know what to name it yet. But this one will not just be an office.
the RV is going to be multi functional for the things that I like, that I can invite people to be a part of town to learn new things and meet new people and have a new memories.
So for starts. I also am a streamer. So game streaming from wherever would be cool. Finding people in different states to do a podcast would be cool. Going to different independent restaurants that get suggested would be cool. I’m also good at projection mapping. This new mobile office will not only be a space where I live in work, but it will also be the home of the things I enjoy and then I can share with people.
And all of the while still having at that job. The company I work for I really do like and if this thing grows into something bigger, I won’t be able to work a full-time job behind my desk but that’s part of why I’m doing this. I’m telling corporate America to go fuck themselves in my own way. They all now think we have to go back to the office?
Not only fuck no but my office will no longer be nailed down. If they were to find out and threaten me, they can go fuck themselves again. I also do independent agency contract work, and is so easy to find stuff in any state in any city to be honest. Plus, I could find a job at any state. Relocation will be a breeze.
So why not just move to another state? Because it doesn’t matter what city and state you’re in it becomes the same shit that you just left before. You may have a nicer house to do it in but you’re still doing the same thing.
We are in the age where work is not a location, the place you live doesn’t have to be a house, people you call friends will be the ones that you meet along the way and happiness is where you want it to be.
I really hope this is going to be a successful as I believe it will be free, not monetarily. But successful in discovery.
I really hope to meet some of you on this journey. I’d love to meet people who have unique perspective, interesting ideas, good senses of humor, and overall nice people that hopefully I’ll get to call friends along the way.
