Just unethical greedy corporations ruining people's lives to protect shareholder profits.
Nothing to see here, move along.
Some advice:
Remember: when any company goes public, the stock becomes the product and the shareholder becomes the customer. Then when the going gets tough (or the projections look negative) everyone else can get screwed, or burnout/starve/die trying.
Your best bet is to keep your options open and try to become irreplaceable.
And if you need to break the rules to become irreplaceable, do it.
Don't teach others how to fix what only you can fix.
Avoid documenting your work as much as possible.
Don't go above and beyond; that just makes it easier for them to shove you out the door without a care.
