Let me tell you the wonders of living in Eastern Europe:
- Earn on average 400-600€ (minimum is 300€). Some people earn less than this though
- Rent for a studio apartment is between 200 and 300€. 1 bedroom apartment goes for 60.000 – 80.000€ in a mid-sized city (300.000 inhabitants). Utilities (heat, electricity, water, garbage etc) are around 80€ / month.
- 1 liter of diesel is 1.62€ and keeps going up. 1 year of insurance for your car is 161€. A guy from Canada told me he pays 150$?? Public transportation permit is 40€ per month but it is available only in the city and it sucks.
- Beside meat and fruits, food costs the same as in western countries where people get paid 4x what I earn
- Video games, phones, clothes, subscriptions and all electronics are priced at western levels
- There are a bunch of foreign companies coming here for cheap labor and some of them have absurd requirements. For example if you want to work a shitty job in a call center where you'll get shout at all day you need to know at least 2 foreign languages (usually English + Spanish/ Italian / Dutch / German etc) ”at native level” and they still wont pay you more than 600€
- We have saying here: “Indian salaries and German prices” which is absolutely true.
