If you tell your boss that you would become homeless otherwise then they should not scoff at you and dismiss it because it doesn’t affect them.

I'm UK based and yesterday my boss held a meeting with me and HR asking if I'd like to voluntarily quit. I could go on garden leave right then and there. I explained I felt bullied, but was not in a place to just quit my job as I have a mortgage and I'd be homeless if so. They completely acted as if they didn't hear me and ignored I'd said it. Then at one point they asked if I was happy and I said I was just doing my best. They said good and that if I had said no they'd have fired me at the end of this week. I'm sorry, but if an employee tells you they'd face homelessness if they lost their job then you should not be ignoring them and then in the same breadth explain how you want to get along with them and…

God, micromanaging and bully bosses are the worse.
