I've worked remotely for almost 2 years. I cannot believe I used to waste so much of my life outside my home.
Working remotely is so much better. I get the same or more work done from home while at the same time I can do laundry or cook lunch for myself instead of shoot the shit with a co-worker.
I don't put miles on my car. I bought my car in March of 2021 and I've put less than 30k miles on it since then. A good portion of that was from a cross country road trip I took while working to see 9 different baseball stadiums last summer.
My house is clean bc I have energy to clean up due to not having a 2 hour round trip commute. I used to pay for a maid service once a week bc I was just exhausted all the time but now I don't have to do that.
My pets are happier with me being home most of the time. My dog used to have severe separation anxiety but now, even when I leave for a full day, there are no issues at all.
I'd really take a job that paid $60k and was remote over a job that paid $90k and was in office. I absolutely love working remotely and I'm an extrovert. I feel my social life is actually better now bc, as mentioned before, I have more energy to do stuff now.
