So I applied for a job expecting to get ghosted or not hear back. The company I work for now has me working about 8 and half months. Normally this would not be an issue but I live in Kentucky and now they only give 12 weeks unemployment as to the usual 26. At 26 weeks I can make that work. I'm usually hired back at 13-16 weeks. Either way there's a month without pay or very little as my area there's not a lot of jobs
So I did get an interview and I did get an offer. I told the interviewer that I needed some time to think. I don't hate the company I work at. I want to go year round because that security would mean so much. I am in the process of negotiating for something that provides that security. Luckily I'm a top performer in my role and help much of the team out. I'm conflicted.
I doubt they'll fire me as I did everything not on the clock and I'm a good worker. Heck I've heard stories of managers going through hell to get noncompliant people dismissed. There was also someone I know who went elsewhere then came back. But I need help, and advice if something goes wrong.
