My bf works as a shipper/receiver at a warehouse. It’s a small place, one shop manager, 5 techs that build the product, one shipper/receiver, and the vice president of the company at their location.
They don’t follow ANY osha standards. They fuck around on the forklift & cherry picker, no one wears PPE, employees come in drunk & high & drink on the job and this is known by the vice president because he used to drink with them, inventory isn’t stored correctly and it’s a very obvious safety hazard (their products r big as fuck, if it falls on u, ur head is done for), employees will climb shelves without a ladder or anything to reach stuff (picture a toddler climbing a grocery store shelf and a massive bag of rice falls and knocks them onto their head into the concrete floor). Steel toed boots are unheard of there. Although a worker has already broken a toe. The same worker who doesn’t bother to wear face shield/glasses when sparks are flying because he’s cutting metal. They won’t turn heat or AC on. We live in Georgia it’s fucking hot & freezing throughout the year.
Their shop is a gory workplace accident just waiting to happen. My bf has already reported them because the management won’t enforce anything despite safety risks being everywhere daily.
Will osha make a trip to their warehouse if they get two reports? Will they just get fined? Is there anything else I could report them for that falls under shit I just listed?
