Hey friends. A few weeks ago I posted here about accepting a new job and bringing it to my current employer to see if they’d counter (they didn’t.)
Since I’ve accepted the job, I move Monday, and start Tuesday. For a little discretion I’m the owners right hand. He & his wife just had their first born so I’ve been trusted to run things.
I realize that makes me “boss” which is a word I hate. Very thankful for the opportunity & the pay. I just want to set up the right culture (which takes time.)
I’m needing some advice here on how to do well as a boss. I’ve managed before, and I like developing relationships, shooting for goals, and celebrating our wins legitimately. I value people for who they are not what they can “give” I’m really far from a corporate guy. That’s largely the reason why I was selected.
Those that have been in my shoes, what have you done? Those who’ve had experiences they liked, why so? I legitimately want people to enjoy at least some part of their work day.
If this isn’t allowed here, sorry mods.
