I’m thinking about just not working……

Hey everyone, I'm going through a difficult time and could use some advice. Now, I recognize the responses I get here will be a bit bias (given the name of the sub and all) but I just need some input. I've been working in very stressful IT jobs for a while and honestly I'm sick of it. Burnout is real. I've done some job hopping in the past and discovered something about myself. I'm not burnt out of a job, I'm burnt out of the industry. I feel like I need to take a break from working and just enjoy life. Not a vacation, not a holiday, a full on break.

I'm thinking 3-ish months. Aka, I want to quit my job and just not work for 3 months.

I've done the math and I can afford it financially. I have some passive income and a decent savings that I can live off for a prolonged amount of time.

Now I ran this idea by my family and the overwhelming response was them saying this is a stupid idea. In particular my dad said this would be “like shooting yourself in the foot”, citing that a 3 month gap in employment is devastating and I would have a hell of a time re-entering the work force. Also he brought up health insurance, if I were to get injured I would have to pay the full doctor bills (although currently my insurance has %100 coinsurance. So………. what's the difference?)

Anyway, what are all your thoughts? Also I am 27M living in the US, for context.
