I am so so tired of working with violent, hostile, aggressive coworkers and bosses. I cant count how many coworkers I’ve had threaten to bash my head in. Some drunk, some high, many both, but some stone cold sober but with the intent to kill in their eyes. Ive had a coworker and supposed mentor try to pull me into a table saw. And when I reported him to my boss… I got fired instead.
I just recently had a supervisor threaten me. This job, it was well known that no one would be fired for practically any fuckup (many people constantly did millions of dollars worth of damage) EXCEPT for violence.
Except when it happened to ME… they refused to fire the guy. They tried to downplay it.
Id say around 8/10 jobs ive worked have had violence or threats of violence.
And its not something i can report or id be blacklisted from the industry. If it would even go anywhere in the first place.
Why is this aggression and hostility something we so blindly accept as a normal and unavoidable part of work?
