I've been trying to escape my shithole job for about a month now. Almost 90% of the time, whenever I try to apply anywhere I am sent one of those stupid assessments. I scored completed the first time I did it, which is the lowest score. I have the experience and skills though needed for the job. I stopped doing them because I wasn't going to waste my free time doing a test for a job I will probably not get for my score. It's not even my low score though, I see people who get expert and still don't get hired.
I am mentally ill and have trouble with tests, especially timed tests and I just find it really unfair that they make you do these tests on your own time, as if a resume, cover letter and interview isn't enough for these employers already. I have all the qualifications, why do they find it necessary to send me these 20-40 min tests? 🙁 I'm not sure what to do. What do you guys think, are these assessments fair? Am I overreacting? I feel like this is all pointless and I want to give up.
