So my boss has refused to give me a day to grieve for the death of my cousin. I asked for the day after the funeral off (it was on my off day) and he told me no and said going to the funeral should have been enough. He also said that time off is only given for immediate family and no where else would have given me time off. After crying on the phone he said I could come in for just half the day but that he could not give me the day off. I'm just wondering what my rights are and if this is normal. If anyone needs more info just ask. Thank you for any help.
