Is it time to leave?

Let me start by saying that I actually like my job and my supervisor. She has always believed in having a work-life balance and has been understanding of time I need to take off for my kids. Here comes the anti-work part. When the pandemic hit, we worked from home for about a year and a half before everyone was supposed to be back on campus (I work at a community college). This was during the summer, but hubs and I weren’t comfortable sending our kids to daycare yet. So my boss let me work from home two days a week, and when school started in the fall, she let me work one day from home. Yesterday, I saw a job posting for a position on campus (different than mine) that said they are piloting it as wfh position for two days a week. Um, what?

The job I have is one that can be done from and there are many, many opportunities in my field to wfh. I know I could leave if I wanted, but like I said, I really like my boss and my job. I’ve also only had it for two years, and I hate the job application process. I’m not even asking to wfh every day, just a couple of days to be closer to my kids if they need anything, not to mention that my commute is an hour each way.

Thanks for reading. Any advice?
