I live in California where it’s now legally required to have the salary on the job posting, but for this specific casino position it isn’t posted. I’ve been guesstimating the wage from their other positions and I have a feeling that they’re going to offer me a dollar or two less than what I’d like. Based on my experience, I don’t want to accept lower than the wage that I desire.
Say the pay is $16/hr and I ask for $18.50. For a position at a cafe in a casino, would they even be inclined to hear me out? Or is it a waste of my time? I’ve applied to other companies but I’m still waiting on calls back. $18.50 is hardly enough to live off of in SoCal but it’s the best I can do until I graduate.
