Is it worth trying to get a promotion or raise anymore?

Been at this full time job for 2 years, worked my ass off to stand out. My manager gave me a great review and discussed promotions with me, but then the company laid them off. Earlier this week on a company call, they started talking about their new promotion and raise criteria and I bought up the point that since my manager was laid off that my job is very different with less opportunities to shine, they had a don’t worry about it kind of answer but IMMEDIATELY once the call ended I got an email demanding an explanation on why I had a slow work week last week. It’s a full time job and they make us time our projects. It was fine to have a slow week in the past but it became a problem once I spoke up. Just feeling bummed and like I put a target…

Just feeling bummed and like I put a target on my back. I should know better and lie about my hours spent like everyone else, but I’m honest and have been begging for more work/my old responsibilities back.

I’m always applying to other jobs but as we all know it can be tough to get noticed. Sucks because I liked the company before the new leadership and firings
