Is multiple employer charges that add up to over $300 for property damages / not returning property and quitting/wrongful termination normal?

I got hired at a day care and during training we had to sign a contract. In the contract it states that I will be charged for damaging work clothes, for any new uniform shirt provided to me ( I only get one, and they cost $22 after that) as well as charges for specific property damages or if you lose the items. The contract also stated that the employer will charge me $100 if I am fired or leave the company within six months. I also am responsible for paying half of my background check ($20) and will have to pay the full amount if I quit within 6 months. I live in an at-will state so this really stood out to me and i did not sign that portion. The pay for this job is only 14/hr, and it drops to 12.50 in August. Im just wondering if…
