Is my company abusing the difference in labor laws between countries?

I work as a contractor in Kuwait, and I am employed by an American defense firm incorporated in the United States. Through a program authorized by the American department of defense, we provided services to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense. According to Kuwait labor law, we get paid time and a quarter up to 48 hours a week, then time and a half afterward. However, we use the American 5-day- 40-hour work week as the standard. We also work through the hottest parts of the year despite Kuwait labor laws prohibiting labor above a certain temperature, and in exchange, we receive a certain amount of overtime per day. I was wondering if anyone on here could provide some clarification as to if this is legal and where I could get information about which laws take precedence American or Kuwaiti?
