I work at a fast food chain. I get paid 8.75 after working here for almost 10 months with 0 right ups or complaints (saying that because people with right ups still get raises of a few cents and for some reason I still haven’t).
Recently somehow the store lost $3,000 from cashier errors or stealing (which I was not involved in or new of). But of course everyone gets punished and now discounts have changed to only if the food you buy is $10 or less and I believe we only get 1 free drink when we used to get however many.
When we are on shift we are also no longer allowed to use store cups and have to bring our own even though we are supposed to get free drinks but apparently we have “lost money in cups”.
Also yesterday we got a group chat message saying we are no longer allowed to have phones even in pockets. Only left at home or on desk in the back.
There’s also drama because one of our two managers doesn’t want a background check and tried to quit on spot last week.
I’m litterly still in high school and want to at least get paid $10 if I’m going to be treated like this. Tbh there’s other better paying fast food and retail stores in my area though, I haven’t tried finding a new job because my manager gets really upset when people leave and I feel bad. Though honestly I’m starting to not care.
