“It’s a twenty person team”

I work at a help desk restoring internet connection to customers. It's obligated to be open 24/7, 365 days a year. Every time the boss walks through with a high-ranking person from the overseeing company, he tells them “The service desk is a 20 person team, we're open 24/7.” There are four of us. Four. We had six, but two people just quit. They're expecting one person to serve every customer, when a customer calls in every thirty seconds, and a call can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours. I don't know what do anymore here, I guess I'm just venting. Every time somebody quits, the remaining people have to pick up their slack. Now we're going to be moving to 5 12-hour shifts a week because the place HAS to be open every minute of every day. I've been applying to other jobs like CRAZY but nobody…
