I went to an interview today,
Keep in mind, in 31m and Balding. What’s left of my hair looks terrible and I’m unemployed due to a series of unfortunate events (tech industry)
I’m broke and can’t get a haircut right now so I put on a hat. I’m dressed in a button down shirt, slacks, and a clean black hat, with a small athletic logo on the edge of the brim.
I get it, if you’re like 1000 years old you might still have a hatred to hats indoors, I’m unfortunately met with such a dinosaur. Before even asking any interview questions he chooses to complain about it.
This guy has visible tattoos and rolled sleeves while ranting about “professional appearance” to me. It really threw me off, I’ve worked in an office before and never got complaints.
Feels like a red flag parade from this employer. Interview lasted 5 minutes and I just laughed when he said it was a “deal breaker”
Good thing I wasn’t looking for a date.. he’s not my type.
But it got me thinking about buzzing my head completely, since I guess hats are gonna be a problem for some.
Does dignity have to be taken by employers too? Wait… nevermind I already know the answer to that lol.
