i was miserable in my job and desperate to get out from day 1. it was one of those positions that you start and immediately regret. extremely toxic and everyone just blamed someone else for issues.
i ended up with a new manager after the old one was fired (without cause). i knew my days were numbered and was sending out applications left and right.
one day, i had an email in my inbox from my manager where she attached the cover letter and resume I had submitted to a different company with a snarky note about job hunting on company time.
just as i suspected, i was let go after an awkward couple weeks.
after some digging, i figured out who at the new company had shared my application with my manager. i reached out to the CEO of that company and explained exactly what happened. i don’t know for sure, but i’m pretty sure she lost her job for it.
the revenge was worth it
