Went in for my first day of job training today for a housekeeping/porter position at a truck stop. Mainly cleaning showers and bathrooms. The guy that was “training” me was telling me how rude and nasty the truckers can be and then causally let’s me know that since I’m a female some truckers will probably ask me to go into the showers with them and provide “favors”. He proceeded to tell me not to let it bother me and I’m just supposed to tell them I’d get in trouble for it.
Also told me a story about another porter who had to clean up a crap explosion in the bathroom all by herself because management wouldn’t get anyone to help. I was actually hopeful about this job but now I feel deflated.
