I am having major surgery in January. I live far away from family in a city by myself, and I’m single. I have no one to help me with intimate post-surgery healing.
My sister asked her workplace if she could work remotely for a couple days so she could fly to stay with me, and they told her no. Her job is literally paperwork processing and the entire job could easily be done online.
I am just so sad, angry, and disappointed. She’s convinced if she escalates it they’d just fire her, and she has a 1 year old to take care of so that’s not an option. But of course nepotism runs wild and the owner’s family/friends can do whatever they want whenever they want.
I don’t understand how people can be so goddamn heartless. Especially when the impact on them is literally ZERO.
