In short, i managed to get a new job a few days ago, and yesterday was my first day at work. At first it all seemed ok, good even.Customers seemed nice, Coworkers were nice aswell, rather low pay at minimum wage but still manageable.
That was, until i started talking to my coworkers about an average work day. I instantly got hit with multiple red flags. Stuff like “We all start working 40 minutes earlier each day because otherwise we just wont get the work done until the shop opens” and “Unusally we dont do breaks”. Etc.
No. Simply no. F*** that.
I quit on the same day. 40 Minutes unpaid each day is almost a months worth of missed salary over an entire year. Im not doing free work, especially not on minimum wage. Not even considering the break times.
Sadly, this seems to be normal nowdays. Expecting people to show up way to early to scam them out of valuable time. Not respecting breaks etc.
