Antiwork

Just started a job at subway – manager insists I can NOT talk about my pay.

So I never thought in a million years I'd have my own antiwork story, but here we are. Yesterday I walked into a subway to apply, and they hired me. Today I was being trained in and the manager was showing me how to clock in and out. The manager then told me something along the lines of “You make more than all the other employees because you're an adult and not attending high school. So you can NOT talk to anybody about your pay.” I've been frequenting this sub for a while so my immediate response was “you should know it's illegal to tell your employees they can't talk about pay.” And he replies “That's wrong, I've been manager for a long time I know what I'm talking about. You can't talk about pay with anybody here.” Not only that, but then he immediately goes and shit talks one…

I've been frequenting this sub for a while so my immediate response was “you should know it's illegal to tell your employees they can't talk about pay.” And he replies “That's wrong, I've been manager for a long time I know what I'm talking about. You can't talk about pay with anybody here.”

Not only that, but then he immediately goes and shit talks one of the other employees, who was my friend and a partial reason I applied to the job. Saying “that Ukrainian kid has been here for 2 months and he can't even wrap a sandwich properly!” He also kept making the bathroom area smell like cigarettes every time he walked out the back door of the building.

I'm also apparently not allowed to make this reddit post, because “anything you post on social media about Subway can't be negative in anyway, and could result in termination” or something like that. Don't care tbh.

So, here's the reason I'm posting all this: What do I do? I don't take this crap lightly and I do intend to report this violation of my rights. As far as I'm aware, I need to get him to say this in writing. I plan to ask him “So I can't talk about my pay with anyone – correct?” and wait for him to reply “no” before screenshotting. If that's a good idea in this sub's opinion, where should I then report this?

Thanks.

Edit: I just did this. Here's the screenshot.
