I got laid off last week from an administrative assistant position at a construction company; business was really struggling. I have an associates in business management that I got because it was a good opportunity. I'm so lost and I don't know what to pursue. I've been applying to jobs for two weeks, no response from anyone really. I sent my resume to a recruiter friend and he helped me improve it so I'm hoping that helps.
I've always had a different perspective on work. I was never the type to want to work a 9-5 for the rest of my life. Every job I've ever had since I was 17 had made me feel trapped. I worked in retail, food, textile, tax accounting and more.
I just want to try something remote, at least that way I won't have to deal with stupid people in person (I'm an introvert). I know I'm capable and smart enough to do those simple jobs but companies just don't seem to respond.
Meanwhile, I'm starting to learn about copywriting and I hope to freelance one day. I want to at least start at a company as a beginner but those positions don't exist in my area (other than unpaid internships) because you need a million years of experience.
I'm slowly losing hope and self-confidence.
What am I doing wrong? All advice and hard truth is welcome just please don't be mean, it's been a rough 7 months for me.
