Now, before anyone flames me, I'm not saying that anyone here is wrong. I agree that the system suck ass and is completely broken. I agree it's bullshit that we all work so hard to just barely scrape by while all those rich mfers sit in their office claiming they work so much harder than us.
I'm saying, let's share something good our job has actually done for us. Not some bs pizza party or something, I mean something actually good that they did. Just to hopefully make someone smile.
I've got one I will share. I was working out of state for a few weeks. When I reached the end of that project, I was ready to go home. My boss contacted me the afternoon of my last day as part of that project and asked if I wanted a couple more days out there just to have some fun. No work, no obligations, just a mini vacation on the companies dime.
I politely refused, saying I wanted to get back to my family and he said, “Okay, lemme put you down for a week off, and just send me the receipts for food that you eat that week at home, so that you get reimbursed. You still deserve a vacation for the hard work you just got done with.”
It made me feel good that my boss actually cared.
