Sent this to owner/president, COO, President of sales( owners nephew) Vice President of sales (owners son) and the Head of HR
Dear Mr. McDougal and family,
This is Really Awesome Employee, former Outside Sales representative of questionable employer in my city. I was terminated today, by jerkface 1.
Questionable Employer always represented itself as a family. That employees were family. I hope that as a family you treat each other better than you treated me. A little backstory for you since I am just number 12345 on a report. When the walk out of the my city store happened, my notice had already been given to questionable employer for a different reason entirely. I even warned jerkface 2 that ex-employee was leaving and others might follow so he should get ahead of it, but he did not believe me. I worked my two weeks, then was offered a sales position and came back to work after 6 days. Jerkface 1 made promises to me that he was not able to fulfill and when I addressed those promises, he said no such promises were ever made. Accounts that were to be mine never were. I understand that sales were not where they needed to be but I also realized that my sales were not correct. I had to do a deep dive into shitty erp system to find out why. I discovered that almost all COD accounts were loaded under service manager's (a non commission or bonused employee) number. I texted jerkface 1 when I discovered this. His response was “I can handle it. I'll send you a list.” He did not handle it so I emailed jerkface 3. His response was,
“Really Awesome Employee,
Jerkface 1 and I will look at this later today. Thanks for sending this along. We will get back to you ASAP.
(signed) Jerkface 3″
They did not so following up with jerkface 1 again he responded,
“Our practice at questionable employer is to put accounts in your name that you’re actively calling on and involved with. We don’t pay commission on accounts that a CSR isn’t directly involved with.”
Some of the accounts in question were accounts I opened as the shop manager before questionable employer bought previous employer. People I know personally. Others were long term previous employer customers that I have known for years and called on yet they were never assigned my number and I never got credit. There were also many other tickets that due to lack of training on the shitty erp system got credited to others. I also sent jerkface 1 an email to set up several cash account customers which was never acknowledged and the accounts have not happened.
I have always done what was best for previous employer, and since the buyout, what is best for questionable employer. When jerkface 4 needed counter help I helped him. When jerkface 2 needed me to cover for him covering for jerkface 4, I was there. A few months ago when big customer was irate I was asked to drop off and pick up goods. Their racks were full and goods were piling up in their parking lot. I was there. The arm on the liftgate for the truck I was driving snapped as I was unloading. I finished unloading anyway. Then I loaded more goods, into that truck with no liftgate. Next I smoothed the situation over with big customer supervisor and went back the next day in a functioning truck and got more goods. I have always done what needed to be done. I have always been whatever was needed. I am a salesman, a master at the service offered by questionable employer, a manager, a past due AR collector.
I am basically shocked. I did what jerkface 1 had asked of me at our year end review. Was doing better documenting on the MMC app. Was focusing on business with more than 3 items (jerkface 1 says 3 or less is a waste) and not going to potential huge customer because its too big(according to jerkface 1) even though what potential huge customer needed was someone to fill in competition's shortfalls, and they have a supplier account. Today I was told it wasn't working out and my employment was being terminated. Mr. McDougal, your company is not the family culture you wish you were and claim to be. I have the ability to do any job in a questionable employers store, just wasn't a good enough salesman on paper. There was no talk of position shift. No mention of a sale or fail commission only opportunity. Not even an , if you want to stay you have to be a tech, demand. Location doesn't even have a true tech right now with jerkface 5 being a hybrid salesman/service provider and their tech out on medical right now. I'm very disappointed in you as a leader, and McDougal as a company and as a family. I hope that you may review this and learn something about those that represent your family because employees are hard to find and word gets around. I understand sales goals are meant to be met and there are consequences, but you should also know that jerkface 1 rode with me 2 half days, jerkface 1 and McDougal's Son one day with a really long lunch(which I don't take), and jerkface 1 and jerkface 3 went with me to the potential customer 2. I made a presentation for this because potential customer 2's decision maker likes to feel important and get special pricing, but jerkface 1 did not want me to present it. I should have done it anyway.
I would like an official termination letter sent to me please. It needs to be documented that I did not quit. I was terminated because “it is not working out”.
From a Man who truly treats his coworkers as family, solves issues instead of creating them, and is respected by his peers because he earned it, I hope your other employees are treated with the fairness and compassion you claim to have.
Sincerely,
Really Awesome Employee
I know it's unbelievable, but there has been no response.
