Manager asking me to keep working after a month notice

So I work for a trash valet company. Basically what I do is pick up trash door to door for a couple apartment complexes. Needles to say that my job sucks. About a month ago I gave notice to my manager that I was applying for new jobs and that he needed to find a replacement (stupid of me, I know) so they found someone who would replace me, I trained him for a week then I was told that i couldn’t work anymore because they couldn’t afford to pay me and the new hire at the same time. Two weeks after I got a job offer and accepted . I told my manager that this would be my last week. He then asked me if I could stay on to help out while he finds someone new. I told him I’d help with one of my properties just for one more day. Now I’m being guilt tripped, saying that he’d have to cover for 4 other people until they hired others and I’d be doing him a solid if I could keep working until then. I think I’ve made up my mind that I’m not caving to anything but I just needed to rant a bit. Not to mention that he promised me extra hours on my time card when I came back after the new hire didn’t work out and I never got anything.
