Manager only replies to emails when it’s something she wants

Sorry if this isn’t allowed, I just kind of need to vent. If you’re here for the title, skip to the end. So, Thursday the 2nd thru Saturday the 4th I was mandated to stay late because I was the “only one” who could do xyz. On the 2nd, my manager asked if I could come in from 2100-2330 to get trained for brake riding (something that had to be done when the overnight planes arrived); after I reluctantly said yes, I realized that I couldn’t since that would only be 4.5 hours between shifts since on Thursdays and Fridays I work a double with a coworker (hence why I work 3 days a week); according to our union agreement, there must be at least 7.5 hours between shifts (excluding things like what I have with my coworker).

She seemed irritated and said fine, she’ll send me to a different city to learn. She later came and said that she needed me no matter what, since he would need to be escorted (I’m one of very few people who can do it, which I regret). I asked about my morning shift, and she said to not come in. I had woken up at 2am – I didn’t get to sleep until around 4 the next morning.

On the 3rd I worked my regular shift, and then was told that they needed me to come back for night shift because the lead called in (I was forced to become a temp lead several months ago. I should’ve put my foot down, but I’m still trying to grow a spine tbh :’^)). Fine, whatever, but I’m only working operations (basically desk work as opposed to marshalling, wing walking, offloading, dropping at claim, clean and search, etc).

The 4th. Holy. Fucking. Shit. I was telling my coworker that I wasn’t going to stay late again, that I’m tired, and I’ll refuse if they try to ask. So of course they then hit me with the “we’re mandating you” card. This job is my main source of income, so I didn’t want to test the waters with refusing after that. I was on the verge of tears when she was explaining to me that not only did the lead call in again, but the heat watch guy (stays all night to make sure the planes don’t freeze, which is what I used to do, so I trained the new guy, but you can’t train stupid – 99.99% sure he called in because he almost froze a plane the night before) and another person called in, leaving 4 people. Manager promised me that the week after next, we could get together to see if there’s two days I can have off as thanks (I should’ve gotten it in writing). I told her I time out at 2am (16 hours). I again stayed in ops aside from when I was doing heat watch, and I showed one of the guys how to do it (though only twice since they were short staffed). Around 2 I was packing up when a coworker called on the radio, making a big fuss about having to clean and search with only 3 people, and why can’t the jetbridge agent do it? (He’s not trained) and why can’t he search? (He’s not trained!). The cherry on top is that on my way out I slipped on a patch of ice, fell flat on my ass, and dropped and scuffed up my water bottle.

As for the title: I emailed my manager on Saturday asking when we could talk about the two days she promised. No answer. Today she sends out two emails about needing extra people to work, and saying that people have lessons due. Still haven’t gotten a response from her, but I can guarantee that if I responded to her email about needing help, she’d respond reaaaaal quick.
