moral dilemma regarding homeless people and business establishments

i just started working a new job in food service. i previously used to work for this company a couple of years ago but it was at a different location that had a different owner. at that location they really didn’t give a fuck about what i did as long as i showed up and worked. i would give away food to homeless people sometimes, warm up the food they got from the dollar store and let them use the restroom and get water. maybe some of that was going too far but they were all cooperative and respectful so i thought why not? but at this new location i’m working at it’s owned by like a bigger company and they’re way more strict. they watch cameras all the time. they don’t allow homeless people in. and it’s really starting to bother me. first of all my coworkers treat the…

i just started working a new job in food service. i previously used to work for this company a couple of years ago but it was at a different location that had a different owner. at that location they really didn’t give a fuck about what i did as long as i showed up and worked. i would give away food to homeless people sometimes, warm up the food they got from the dollar store and let them use the restroom and get water. maybe some of that was going too far but they were all cooperative and respectful so i thought why not? but at this new location i’m working at it’s owned by like a bigger company and they’re way more strict. they watch cameras all the time. they don’t allow homeless people in. and it’s really starting to bother me. first of all my coworkers treat the homeless like shit. they kick them out and then talk shit about them after they leave. as if being homeless or an addict makes them less than. they are still human beings!!!!! where is the empathy!!!!! and i could see if they were disruptive or something but most of them never even ask for food they just want to use the restroom and get water. it breaks my heart to turn them away. they said the restroom is for paying customers only but my job is right off the highway and a lot of people stop just to use the restroom without buying anything. but the homeless cant? i don’t want to jeopardize my job but i feel extremely guilty refusing to let them use the restroom or get water.
