There was this event, for CEO’s only. It was held around or before the week of July 31st 2023. I do not know the exact conference as my CEOs calendar is private. I’m hoping some Reddit detectives can help figure out that part. It is a conference only for CEOs. At this conference the Zoom CEO was there, as well as many other software and tech companies. It was probably on the West Coast, but again I do not have that exact info.
Now I am not sure if they intentionally met to mandate RTO or if it was just a side effect of having a bunch of CEOs together. Either way during this conference the CEOs garnered strength from each other to mandate Return to Office the same as Google and Facebook have. They followed the same general model as others, 2 days a week return to office. The “hybrid” model. And with all of the CEOs returning to their respective companies on Monday and suddenly announcing RTO 2 days a week for all employees within 50 miles. RTO announcements were July 31 2023 to August 14 2023. Does this sound like your company? Isn’t it a weird coincidence that your company mandated RTO on the same time table and same general policies as what some random guy on Reddit is saying? That’s due to the CEOs gathering confidence from each other, that if they all mandated RTO at the same time, there would be less risk for the employees to jump ship. “Hey if everyone is doing it, we won’t look so bad either.”
I wish this wasn’t true. But our idiot CEO told us this fact. And he is so dense he thought it was helping his case “why we should RTO.” But in actuality he was revealing a really damming secret.
Please REDDIT, help us find the name of the CEO conference event and which CEOs attended.
