I work in veterinary medicine. This morning when I went to work I went through my back. I still drove to work like the idiot I am and when I arrived I could barely get out of my car. I had to call my colleague so she could help me get to the clinic.
She laid me down in our operating room and there I laid since 9.00 until 12.30. I got some painkillers to try and manage the pain in my back but to no avail. While I was laying there my boss berated me for making an appointment for a dog for which there was apparently no time for. She berated me a second time for another appointment for dental cleaning but the cat hadn't been here for 3 years. All while I was laying in pain on a little matrass.
Eventually she said if I had a physician for my back, I said no and she said “fix something yourself because if you wanna be in pain that's your own choice”.
I immediately called my partner and MIL to come get me and take me home. Luckily my brother is a physician and he is on his way to help me out. My doctor is not available until 14.00.
It boggles me how she could act like that towards an employee in serious pain, I get that I made a mistake but this was absolutely NOT the time to chew me out when I am not even listening because my back is hurting so much. Luckily I am working my last month here.. but it might be sooner if my back won't heal sooner.
