i live in the uk im 20 and have been in my first retail job since the beginning of this year, i took it because i was desperate but im disabled and working in a non accommodative work environment isn't sustainable at all, i was told in order to get cleared to use my disability walking aid while at work they would need to have me reviewed by a safety officer and after would 'discuss if this was the right position for me'
i wasnt notified of rhis at the interview or during any of my training, it was just said that 'reasonable accommodations will be made and theyre super inclusive blah blah blah..
on top of that the the manager is insisting we move from closing at 10:30 to 4am which i wasn't notified of until i got my schedule
my schedule is also changed without my knowledge constantly
the majority of the staff are trainees which means ive been here a few months and im already training other people, ive even had to help train a supervisor
i have no idea how to advocate for myself because i dont want to get i to legal trouble as i was told i could be sued by the company if i didnt fully disclose my disability and then had an accident at work caused by it, im rly scared, plus i keep getting reprimanded and shamed for my needs by some senior colleagues
basically i just need advice on how to advocate for myself and tbh maybe helo on how to quit while still getting a reference
