so my manager took me off the schedule for the week and told me he would talk to me about it. a day goes by and no response. then i try calling him and he declines my calls. i decided to call my other manager and he told me he would call me back. no answer from either of them. 2 days go by and i decide to go in and talk to them. my manager told me that the owner had fired me and wanted me gone. i asked him why and he said it was because a table had complained about me, and that the table is best friends with the owner. so automatically i get fired. which is very unfair considering my manger was there that night and apologized to me for how terrible that table had treated me….
my manger then tries telling me that he stood up for me and told the owner not to take me off the schedule, that he would call me. but we all know that’s bs since he never did bother to call me. he just made excuses saying that he had other things he needed to do and that the restaurant was busy… so i just told him that it was very unprofessional and unfair that he did that to me. that i was relying on that money for rent and he should have just called me instead of ghosting me. i only worked there for 2 weeks, but does anyone know if i could get any unemployment benefits or complain to the department of labor? i’ve never been fired before or have had anything like this happen to me so idk.
