My boyfriend has been going through the ringer with background checks for a job and now has to have his high school diploma that he lost in a fire to them by Monday or they will make him reapply and start the whole process over.

He’s had to fill out three different background check forms that ask just about everything but his great grandmothers blood type and they sent him an email end of day Friday that he has to have his high school diploma to them by Monday or has to reapply and start the process over. I guess this wouldn’t be a problem but he lost it in a fire years ago. We’ve both had so many jobs and never had to show our diplomas. I know this is some kind of standard practice because it’s a government job but the whole thing is so stupid. They really can’t just find out if he actually graduated high school in one of the three background checks? Everything is so convoluted and stupid in this system we have set up.
