My (Broke-Ass) Boomer Father: “Rich People Worked Hard for Their Money and They Deserve It”

My dad is one of those boomers. He'll spout off, “Well, you know, SenseiRaheem, the Walmart family worked really hard to make Walmart so successful, and they deserve what they've earned for working so hard. It's not the government's job to punish them for being successful.” He's also told me, “SenseiRaheem, your rich uncle worked so hard to get his money. No one gave him anything.” …except that my rich uncle's father gave him and each of his siblings A MILLION DOLLARS when they turned 22. And when I tell him that, he responds with, “Well, he still worked hard after that.” Anyway, just wanted to shout into the Reddit void because my blue collar father is part of the brainwashed masses who will fight to the death against taxes for rich people “because they worked hard” or because “no one gave them anything.” The man has no concept of…
